ABOUT DEE

Dee Robinson has many years' experience of community integration programmes. Throughout her career, Dee has designed, developed and coordinated projects for women, men, children and families of diverse ages and ethnicities as well as training for students, staff, volunteers and members of the local community.

In 2004, Dee founded New Routes Integration, a Norwich-based charity that provides support to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, aiming to improve participants’ well-being and assist with the identification and achievement of their ambitions. Since its inception, New Routes has grown to work with individuals and families who speak more than 60 languages and are from more than 80 countries. During her years of leadership, the charity has been widely recognised for its contributions, and received numerous regional and national awards for the relentless pursuit of cross-cultural inclusivity.

In 2014, Dee expanded her role to lead the Norwich Integration Partnership (NIP), three charities working together to assist recently settled black and minority ethnic individuals and families to broaden their local knowledge, increase their self-reliance and enhance cross-cultural understanding, in order to facilitate their meaningful participation in the wider community. NIP was cited as a Model of Best Practice by the National Lottery Community Fund.

As external evaluator of mentoring and befriending programmes in the Eastern Region for the Mentoring & Befriending Foundation and NCVO, Dee assessed projects for awarding of the nationally recognised Approved Provider Standard. Since leaving New Routes Integration in 2021, Dee has focused on developing and delivering specialised training programmes and providing consulting services to a broad range of community support and cultural integration organisations throughout the UK.
